Health and Safety
Ensuring the health and safety of your pet is my top priority. In the event that I observe any behavioral or health issues that may make grooming unsafe for your pet, I will immediately discontinue the service.
In the event of an emergency, I will contact you immediately and provide assistance in transporting your pet to a veterinarian. Our top priority is the well-being of your pet and we will do everything in our power to ensure they receive the best care.
Scheduling
My schedule is usually booked at least a month or two in advance. Working with animals is unpredictable by nature, some dogs require a little more time in order to have a positive experience. I will notify you of any potential delays in appointment times should they arise.
I encourage all of my clients to keep their pets on a regular maintenance schedule so they are always looking and feeling their best. After your first grooming appointment, I will advise you on a recommended schedule based on your pet’s coat type, your desired style, and how much brushing/combing is done in between grooming. Please book your next appointment in advance.
Cancellations/No Shows
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify me 48 hours in advance. Please call/text me directly at 804-299-1593. If no advance notice is given, a non-refundable deposit (50% of the price) may apply to reschedule.
If I arrive at an appointment and nobody is home, you will be charged a no-show fee that is equal to 50% of the service price. The no-show fee and a non-refundable deposit will be required in order to book a future appointment.
Vaccinations
We want to remind all of our clients that according to Virginia state regulations, all pets are required to have a current rabies vaccine.
This means that if you are planning in any of our services, please make sure they have been vaccinated and provide us with proof from a veterinarian. We cannot accept rabies tags as proof, so please make sure to have your pet’s vaccination certificates ready.
Photography
We understand that your pets are a big part of your family and we want to make sure we document their journey with us. That’s why we take before and after pictures of all pets for record keeping.
However, we also want to respect your privacy and will only use these pictures for promotional purposes with your permission. If you do not wish for your pet’s pictures to be shared publicly, please let us know and we will respect your decision.
Pets with Special Needs, Including Aggression
Please ensure that you disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, behavioral issues or bite history of your pet. This information is crucial for me to provide the best possible care for your furry friend while they are receiving their groom.
Please note, I reserve the right to refuse service at any time in order to protect my personal health and safety. This policy is in place to ensure that I am able to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for both your pet and myself.
Satisfaction
If there is anything that you are not satisfied with, please do not hesitate to let me know right away. I will do everything in my power to address any concerns you may have.
If you feel that your pet’s haircut needs a minor alteration, please let me know within 24 hours and I will happily make the necessary changes. However, please note that I do not offer refunds for my services.
Matted Pets
Matting is common in pets with long hair that is fine, curly, or wavy, or in pets with double coats. Matting is tangled hair that becomes clumped together. Hair in high friction areas generally becomes tangled first, for example: underneath a collar or harness, behind the ears, groin, armpits, and feet.
This increases the likelihood of skin infection or irritation caused by trapped urine/feces, bacteria, fungus, or parasites, as well as bruising.
Pets that require more than 10 minutes of de-matting will need to be shaved. Pets with severe matting in multiple locations will be charged an additional fee for removal (this covers damage to tools and etc.) Shaving matted coats increases the risk of nicks, skin irritation, or abrasion.
Closely shaved pets are also at risk for sunburn, self-inflicted scratches, abrasions. Any veterinary costs caused by grooming a matted pet will be at the pet owner’s expense.
